Viktor E. Frankl was a professor of neurology and psychiatry at the University of Vienna Medical School until his death in 1997. During World War II, he spent 3 years at Auschwitz, Dachau, and other concentration camps; most of his family, including his wife and parents, perished in the camps. Frankl is the author of over 30 books and the recipient of 29 honorary degrees. His book, Man’s Search for Meaning, has been translated into over 50 languages, has sold over 16 million copies globally, and was named one of the 10 most influential books in the United States by the Library of Congress.
